Global Code of Ethics for Tourism

The Global Code of Ethics for Tourism (GCET) is a comprehensive set of 10 principles created by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in 1999. It is designed to guide governments, travel businesses, local communities, and tourists toward sustainable, responsible, and inclusive tourism.

Although it is a non-binding guideline rather than a strict legal document, it aims to maximize the economic and social benefits of travel while minimizing negative impacts on the environment, local cultures, and historical heritage.
